The Great Egret Encounter

My daily walks now include a nearby creek that appears rich wildlife including ducks, geese, rabbits, groundhogs, deer and a variety of birds. I was pleasantly surprised one day to encounter a Great Egret wading in the creek, obviously fishing for food.

We were fortunate this Spring to have a pair of Blue Jays build their nest in the tree right outside my office window. What a treat! From three eggs to three baby birds, I was able to watch daily mom and dad switching off feeding the babies and protecting them by sitting on the nest. Of course, camera and video were always in hand!

Automaker Subaru Helps Pets Find Forever Homes

Subaru of America, Inc. announced in a press release that due to the overwhelming success of pet adoption events at auto shows in 2018, the automaker is expanding its pet adoptions to more than 40 auto shows across the country through the remainder of 2019 and into 2020. As part of the "Subaru Loves Pets" initiative, the Subaru will partner with local animal shelters in cities hosting auto shows, with the focus of ultimately getting animals out of shelters and into loving forever homes.
