Bark in the Park with the Somerset Patriots

Posted by SusanStokes on July 25, 2013

If you’re looking for a fun way to share quality time with your dog, head out to a ball game for a Bark in the Park event near you.  For me, the Somerset Patriots offer the closest venue, and it did not disappoint.

Check out the rules on the Somerset Patriots website first if you would like to attend with your dog. Your pooch must be well-behaved and leashed in order to socialize appropriately in this crowd. All pet owners are asked to bring paperwork displaying proof of vaccination and their dog ID tag to be checked before entry outside the main gate.

Dogs attending the game with their owners do not need a ticket for entry.  Dress him/her up in a Patriots outfit (or not), and you are ready to go.

There was an array of vendors at the last event, in case you were looking for local veterinary care, doggie day care or pet / animal massage therapy.

Even if you don’t have a dog, it’s fun to attend and watch the activities. The pre-game Pooch Parade gave all the dogs a chance to strut their stuff around the ballpark while the spectators watched.  Once the game began, even the dogs appeared to take interest.

The next Somerset Patriots event is scheduled for August 27, 2013.  Mark your calendar now if you are in the area.

Hope to see you there!
