It was an evening if rip roaring comedy for guests to the debut of “Odd Burbs” hosted by comedian Anthony Locascio on Saturday, November 9, 2013.  A private event held at Grape Finale in Flemington, the format featured four local businesses in a rather humorous way in order to create awareness of some unique business activities going on in the “suburbs.”

Service dog placed with PTSD Veteran for Veteran’s Day

I thought this was a nice Veteran’s Day story. To coincide with this Veteran’s Day in 2013, the Guardians of Rescue based in New York delivered a German Shepard to Marine Lance Corporal Ryan Rankins, a veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

This new line of treats for dogs, My Dog Ate It, really caught my attention. Why?  Not only do they give a donation to the Humane Society of Skagit Valley, Washington, for every bag sold, they promote it with laughter as the main ingredient. How can one go wrong?

Sponsor a rescue dog and save a Veteran

Therapy dogs are of great importance to veterans suffering from PTSD. Guardians of Rescue is currently aiding veterans returning from overseas through their Paws of War program.  The team rescues dogs from kill shelters and war torn areas, trains them, and then carefully matches them up with a PTSD patient, to help them through their recovery.

Light a Candle for Remember Me Thursday

Feral cats survive fire at Jersey Shore boardwalk

On September 12, 2013 a fast-moving fire broke out at the boardwalk in Seaside Park, New Jersey, destroying much of the boardwalk and spreading to Seaside Heights. In addition to the businesses lost and the people thrown into turmoil, the lives of the boardwalk feral cats were put at risk.
