There is a woman in Washington, D.C. named Hannah Shaw who has made it her goal to change the world for neonatal kittens. Known as Kitten Lady, she has launched a nonprofit on behalf of kittens in need after her own nickname.

This year National Pet Memorial Day, the second Sunday of September, falls on September 11. And so we give special remembrance to the 9/11 first responders for their bravery and heroism, including the fearless search and rescue dogs and their handlers.

The online pet product company has opened the contest to all pets who get around with the help of a Walkin’ Wheels dog wheelchair. The weather was absolutely perfect for the Memorial Day Parade this year. People and pets lined the streets while folks marched by waving and even throwing candy to the smiling crowd. The event took place on Saturday, May 28, 2016, and attending the parade and the ceremonies that followed was a great way to start the Memorial Day weekend remembering our fallen heroes, both two-legged and four-legged.
